    This position will be responsible to work with Business Unit Owners in the UK  to facilitate, develop and manage the strategic sourcing process in Europe for indirect spend on goods and services. This position involves gaining and applying knowledge of the goods and services purchased by areas within the Company to provide the best value to Wolverine in product selection, quality, service and pricing. In addition, this role will be responsible for procurement of goods and services through the Company’s purchasing process.

    Primary Duties

    • Execute, with limited guidance from the IP Manager, the Strategic Sourcing process with other areas of the company and help to provide recommendations, defined processes and strategies, project updates and reporting.
    • Contribute to the development of innovative procurement strategies while aligning processes and policies to meet specific business requirements.
    • Convert user requisitions to purchase orders and issue to qualified vendors.
    • Work with IP Management and key stakeholders to minimize costs and maximize value by applying best / leading practices across new / nontraditional supplier development, negotiations and bench mark modeling.
    • Coordinate reviews of vendor proposals; negotiate pricing, payment terms, growth programs, warranties and service agreements to bring the best value to Wolverine.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendor partners to facilitate best value and strategic sourcing.
    • Responsible to track and report on savings, make recommendations, award business, issue agreements, implement new programs and resolve vendor disputes.
    • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
    • Experience in commodity management and indirect spend procurement
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Moderate knowledge of contracts to be able to assess risk and perform an initial contract review independently
    • 3 – 5 years of experience or equivalent education
    • Effective Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint skills
    • Experience with spend analysis
    • Solid negotiations preparation and execution skills
    • Highly motivated and results orientated


    Normal office environment.  Occasional travel required.
